'Hypocrisy' is just one of the strongest albums on death metal ever, with Lead frontman Peter Tagtgren unleashing all his passion with a heavy vocal performance, a thrilling keyboard work and corrosive riffs. The lyrical themes are about a pessimistic futuristic vision, dealing also with sadness, despair and nihilism. On the other hand, this is a really varied album. We can find a lot of different rhythms, intensities and melting points between styles. This album has an experimentation level barely seen before and, what is even more uncommon, all the new elements proved here success with mastery. One of the high points of "Hypocrisy" is without doubt its incredible atmosphere. The aggressive riffs and a razor-like, cold keyboard will cut your skin deep into your blood, with very interesting rhythm changes and long instrumental parts that even give a progressive touch. It has everything needed to conform a masterpiece.
