Following up 'Tonight's The Night' was a difficult thing to do for New Jersey girl-group The Shirelles, but they did it the very same year with great 'The Shirelles Sing To Trumpets And Strings'. Featuring further songwriting from Luther Dixon -who had previously written for Elvis, and more, and wrote the great '16 Candles' by The Crests- this album includes his all-time classic 'Mama Said' which marched to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1961. More amazing girl-group pop from The Shirelles reissued on 180 gram vinyl with download code and a bonus track.
