This is my first posting hopefully not my last that riff that keeps appears is the following e------------------------------------------- B------------------------------------------- G------9---7-------------------------------- D--------------9---7------------------------ A----------------------9-10-9---7----------- E------------------------------------------- it shows up in different forms through out the song the first two time's it is played straight but after that it is played with added slides, bends, hammers and pulloff's and a few extra notes My abilities do not allow me to pick off each one. So improvise! Mike Lim - MTLIM@ELECTRICAL.WATSTAR.UWATERLOO.CA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mike Lim Indifference. Pearl Jam. Bye! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- SONG: INDIFFERENCE from Vs. ARTIST: Pearl Jam TAB BY: Neil Smith (nj2_smit@uwe.ac.uk) Hi all! I haven't seen any good tab floating around for this one, so I thought I'd send my version, having finally got post working !!! Notation: (Please pay attention, 'cos I'm not using brackets () for their usual purpose !) h - hammer on p - pull off / - slide up - slide down b - bend string (7) - natural harmonic ring (in this case, fret 7) Here's the main riff. It's for the bass, although no-one can stop you playing it on guitar :) -----(5)---------(7)----- -------(7)---------(7)--- --7-----------5---------- -7-----------5----------- There, that was easy. Then after the first verse, the guitar plays: ------------------------------------------------- 17---15------------------------------------------ ---------16---14--------------------------------- ------------------16-17/19--17------------------- ------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------- It's either that, or 12---10------------------------------------------ ---------12---10--------------------------------- ------------------11-12/14---12------------------ ------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------- I can't tell. Oh well, they sound virtually the same, but the second one's easier on an acousic. Well it is on _my_ acousitc :) For the 2nd chorus onwards, I think (listen to the song!), and in various places later, the bass plays : ----(12)--------(7)---------(5)---------(5)------ ------(12)--------(7)---------(7)---------(7)---- --10------\5------------7-----------7---------- 10----------------------7-----------7------------ The other guitar riff which crops up later is: ---------15------------------------- 17p15-------------17p15------------- ------16-------16-------16-16----16- Play This ------------------------------------ Part Twice ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ 15---17---19b20b19---15--17--------- ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This plays the second time round. Listen to the record and you'll see what I mean.
